WELCOME to the 2007/2008 season. Welcome to the returning members. Welcome to the new families that joined us this year. Between the returning members and the new members, WCA currently has 124 competitive cheerleaders anxiously waiting to rock the competition mat. WOW!! You all have gone through tryouts and you all have accepted your team assignment. Congrats!! The practices start next week. You all should have a monthly calendar from May to August.If you do not, the monthly calendars are posted on the web site in the public section AND in the member only zone. Please download them if you need to. Remember, practices are mandatory. Do your VERY best to attend all practices on time. Your teammates, coaches and WCA owners are counting and relying on you.

Please allow me this opportunity to remind you of the WCA Code of Conduct that you all signed. You must represent yourself, your community, your school and WCA in a positive manner. Please check your My Space and immediately delete anything that is questionable, in bad taste,negative,vulgar or that relates to smoking, drinking or drugs. Continue to monitor your my space and always remove postings that do not reflect good character and integrity. This is a requirement for being a member of WCA. I WILL BE WATCHING!!!

Also, let's talk about the member only zone. You must safeguard your access code. You cannot share your access code with anyone. Non WCA members should never be able to access the member only zone. Please do not violate these rules because I will have to cancel your access code. Use the member only zone to post messages and to chat with one another. It's FUN!!

I am VERY excited about the upcoming competition season. WCA currently has 5 competition teams.We do not know what level each team will compete at . Through the summer, we will be assessing and building skills. Remember, tumbling drives the competition levels at WCA.

WCA will use an open ry out format until 7/30. I anticipate that we will probably have an additional 10 to 20 more cheerleaders join us. Thereafter, our membership will be closed for the season. I can hardly wait for the competitions to start.

I want you all to have fun this season. When you are having fun, the club and the individual team is united and it shows.A united team that has good positive chemistry always performs better than a dysfunctional team. I do not want you to worry about anything. WCA now has the BEST facility on the west coast that only WCA cheerleaders can call home. WCA has a tremendous coaching staff that is excited,eager and ready to train you. Ms Kim and Mr Al are super excited about the upcoming 2007/2008 competition season.

So, keep learning new skills, especially tumbling. and get ready for a crazy and exciting roller coaster ride with a lot of fun and positive memories as we start our journey to a national championship. Stay strong. Stay focused. Stay dedicated. Promise yourself that you will improve your skills EACH and EVERY time you are on the practice mat. Remember, there are no short cuts to being a champion. The only way is HARD WORK !!

So, when you arrive to practice, be prepared to work. Practices are not for socialization. You can socialize before or after practice. You need to be focused and determined once practice starts. There is no other way if you all want to become champions!!

Buckle up because the incredible and memory filled 2007/2008 journey is about to start. Let's have FUN!!!............................
