WHAT IS WASHINGTON CHEER ACADEMY |
|
Washington Cheer Academy is a private organization that provides quality athletic training in a professional, safe, fun and positive environment. WCA teaches technical skills emphasizing perfection before progression while developing physical and emotional strength. WCA instills self-confidence and self-esteem; thereby, promoting healthy socialization and life skills while having fun and building lifelong friendships and memories. We strive to offer the ultimate competitive team experience!!
WCA is recognized as a premier All Star cheerleading program on a local, regional and national level. WCA is committed to building cheerleaders who are highly motivated and respectful individuals. The training program is rigorous, but fun. It is designed to teach the student strong work ethics, respect of themselves and others, determination, commitment and pride. It is our hope and goal that the cheerleaders of WCA will develop lifelong friendships and memories through the sport of cheerleading and learn life skills to assist them in becoming productive adults in the community.
The most obvious way that we help the athletes in our program is by improving their individual skills and helping them reach their athletic potential; however, we believe our program serves a higher purpose. Our competitive program’s primary purpose is to teach growing children and young adults how to work together as a team and overcome personal challenges. While each individual’s contribution is certainly important, we feel that team effort is the way to reach our goals. Throughout a person’s life, they will be put in situations where they must work together to achieve common goals, whether it be professionally or socially. Teamwork is a lifetime lesson!!
Our teams are trained with dedication, compassion, and determination. We are known for our competitiveness and great attitude on and off the floor. Our teams will compete at local, regional and national competitions. Our teams also participate in local community events, performances, parades and aid in community services to help make the state of Washington and its communities a better place for everyone.
When you become a member of WCA, you become part of a program that encourages training for excellence in a family focused atmosphere where all members and coaches are expected to have and maintain positive attitudes, motivation, determination, drive, pride, and a belief in oneself and others. WCA fosters a commitment to setting and achieving high goals, and encourages a willingness to learn and grow as a cheerleader as well as an individual.
As a team member, you become part of a group that includes some of the most talented and hard-working athletes in Washington. We expect great things from our coaches and instill those great things into our teams and each cheerleader individually. Our coaches will guide each cheerleader through training that will allow them to grow and evolve in ways that they never thought possible. Being a part of our family here at WCA is an honor and will bring each member experiences and memories that will follow them for the rest of their lives.
Being a member of WCA involves commitment. Anything less than a 100% commitment is not fair to your fellow team members. All practices are MANDATORY!! Missing practices hampers the progress of the entire team. Members are subject to removal from a team due to missed practices and/or tardiness. You MUST schedule appointments or out of town trips, around the WCA Master Schedule so that you don’t miss any scheduled practices or events. Should a conflict arise regarding any practice or event, it is imperative that you contact Al Lawrence immediately.
Each cheerleader’s commitment to the program is similar to any athletic activity that an athlete participates in on an All-star, “Select”, team level. Just like any competing and performing team, it is necessary for conditioning, skill training, and regular practices to occur to ensure and create the safest and most conducive atmosphere necessary in reaching the program and member goals.
Being a member of WCA is truly a rewarding experience for both the cheerleader and the parents. Being a part of our family will develop each individual with an enormous sense of loyalty, and pride in oneself and in their team. To be a part of such a great program will teach your cheerleader how to work well with many different types of people and personalities, develop lifelong relationships, find their inner-strength, and gain a perspective of their own abilities. They will learn to accept victory with honor and defeat with grace. This is a family commitment that involves physical, emotional, and mental preparation that will assist the cheerleader as they grow into well-rounded adults, with goals for the future. |

ACADEMICS AND CITIZENSHIP |
|
Academics are VERY important to WCA. WCA encourages all cheerleaders to strive to do their best in school. WCA cheerleaders are expected to have a high degree of motivation and a strong work ethic towards school and academics.
All team members are required to pass their academic classes to be a part of WCA. Our program is serious about wanting its team members to properly manage their time in order to maintain high grades and potentially strive for scholarships, academic recognition and more in an effort to be a well rounded, successful individual.
Citizenship is equally important to WCA. We at WCA encourage our cheerleaders to ALWAYS demonstrate good citizenship by being polite, respectful, and considerate of others. We also place value on community service and volunteering. Let's all work together to make our community strong. |
|
CONCLUSION |
|
| Washington Cheer Academy is looking for cheerleaders who are willing to commit to a full season of working hard on improving individual skills as well as being a loyal teammate. Washington Cheer Academy is not recreational. We train to compete. One of our main goals is to create winning routines that will be showcased on local, regional and national levels. This type of goal requires strict attendance and structured workouts. |
